Who we are
Building Brain Digital is a web design and development studio based in Taree, NSW, operated by Jay Armstrong. We build websites, digital tools, and client portals for small businesses. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use our website, our client portal, or contact us about a project.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to do the work. That includes:
- Your name, email address and phone number when you contact us or fill in a form
- Business details you provide during the project discovery process
- Files you upload through the client portal (logos, photos, documents)
- Payment information processed through Stripe — we never see or store your card number
- Basic website analytics through Google Analytics (pages visited, time on site, general location)
- Uptime monitoring data for websites we manage on your behalf
How we use it
- To build and manage your website or digital project
- To communicate with you about your project
- To send you monthly performance reports if you're on the care plan
- To monitor your website's uptime and fix issues quickly
- To process payments for builds and monthly care
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with third parties except the services listed below that we use to run the business.
Services we use
- Supabase — stores client project data, portal logins and uploaded files securely
- Cloudflare — hosts websites and handles security
- Stripe — processes payments. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data
- Google Analytics — anonymous website traffic analytics
- UptimeRobot — monitors website availability
- Resend — sends transactional emails (portal invites, notifications)
- Anthropic — powers AI features in our internal tools. No client data is used to train AI models
Your data, your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- See what data we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your data when a project is complete
- Export your data in a readable format

Data storage & security
Client data is stored in Supabase with row-level security enabled. File uploads are stored in Supabase Storage with access-controlled signed URLs. Passwords are never stored in plain text. All data in transit uses HTTPS.
We're a small studio, not a large organisation. We take security seriously and will notify you promptly if anything goes wrong.
Cookies
Our website uses Google Analytics which sets cookies to track anonymous usage data. These cookies don't identify you personally. You can disable them in your browser settings at any time. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
